How many times have we seen the New England Patriots turn another team's trash into treasure?
It seems like the Patriots have the ability to turn players around time and time again and will have another chance of doing so with the Oakland Raiders' former second-round draft pick.
New England is signing defensive back Obi Melifonwu.

The rich get richer.
Melifonwu will have another chance in the NFL after he was cut by the Raiders this offseason. He still has a ton of potential as he was just a second-round pick in 2017. The safety has played in just five games with six total tackles.
The Patriots must believe he can still contribute despite the rocky start to his career as they saw everything they needed to see during his workout in October. The Patriots could certainly use some help in the secondary as they're currently 28th in passing yards allowed.
Don't be surprised when Melifonwu becomes yet another player who finds his groove under the right coaching in New England.
