The Badgers are in a bit of a rough spot. They are currently 5-2 and their playoff chances are slipping away rapidly.

They will have an intriguing Big Ten matchup against Northwestern on Saturday that will be crucial for their future. The issue? Starting quarterback Alex Hornibrook may miss the game.

Concussion protocol is nothing to shrug off. If the team decides that Hornibrook is not fully healthy, there's no chance he will play.

The junior has not necessarily been a superstar this season, but he has experience. If he does not play, inexperienced sophomore Jack Coan will get the start. If he can pull off a stellar game, he could potentially pull the starting spot going forward.

Oh yeah, Hornibrook is not the only Badger that might miss the game. The team also has six players either 'questionable' or 'out'. And here's the kicker, they're all defensive players.

Saturday's game is a must-win for the middling Badgers. This could be Coan's time for heroics. Let's hope.
