If this is a precursor to the NFL trade deadline, we're in for a treat this year.
The Dallas Cowboys have been searching for a No. 1 wide receiver even before officially releasing Dez Bryant, but now they may have their man, depending on which Amari Cooper they're getting in this semi-blockbuster trade.
Breaking: A source tells me that WR Amari Cooper will be traded to the Dallas #Cowboys.— ig: josinaanderson (@JosinaAnderson) October 22, 2018
Jon Gruden continues to trade away the Oakland Raiders roster and now QB Dak Prescott gets another weapon on the offensive side of the ball. Now it's on him to deliver the passes.
As for Gruden, HE ACTUALLY MADE A GOOD TRADE!
Cowboys traded a first-round pick to Raiders for WR Amari Cooper, per source.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 22, 2018
Wow. Is Gruden's plan in Oakland finally beginning to make sense? The Raiders are continuing to stockpile top picks in preparation for their move to Las Vegas. With their season all but officially flushed down the toilet, this team does not need Cooper, who has been seriously underwhelming of late.
Regardless, he gives Dallas both a No. 1 option and experienced deep threat.
Can confirm @JosinaAnderson report. Amari Cooper has been traded to the Cowboys— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) October 22, 2018
Let's hope Cooper can improve upon his current stat line of 22 receptions for 280 yards and one touchdown so far this year. Both him and the Cowboys need that to happen.
