Well this is a bit of a stunner.
According to US Weekly, the NFL and CBS had reached out to Rihanna earlier this year in an attempt to get her to perform at this year's halftime show for Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.
The 30-year-old singer and actress declined the offer due to her disagreement with the NFL over how it has treated Colin Kapernick.

Kaepernick made national headlines back in the beginning of the 2016 NFL season when he made the decision to kneel for the National Anthem in an effort to protest social injustices and police brutality in the U.S.
Since then, it has caused an uproar by fans, players, and just about everyone else in the United States. Whether it be good or bad, the ramifications of this act have been monumental and it seems that Rihanna declining to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show is the next domino to fall.
This isn't the first time Kaepernick made his way into the news this NFL season, as last month Nike released a bombshell commercial featuring the former quarterback in what was one of the most controversial advertising moves in recent history.
Having Rihanna performing in Atlanta this year would have been electric, but for now we'll just have to settle for Maroon 5.
