The Ohio State Buckeyes overcame a slow start Saturday to take care of business against Minnesota, and are all the way up to No. 2 in the latest AP Poll for their troubles. But, if the Scarlet and Gray really want to go all the way and earn another title this year, they'll need every one of their top talents ready to roll at a high level.

That starts with defensive end Nick Bosa, who has been dealing with an abdominal injury sustained on Sept. 15 against TCU.

A lack of timetable for Bosa's return to the field isn't precisely what Buckeye fans want to hear. Of course, the team has fared well without the ace pass rusher and remains undefeated, but there's just no like-for-like replacement for a kid who can get to the quarterback like Joey's brother can.

As it stands, head coach Urban Meyer is still holding out hope that his star defensive end will be able to return this season.

Ideally, a clearer timetable will emerge once Bosa has been re-evaluated. It would be a shame to hear that his college career is over, but then again, being able to watch him wreck opponents on Sundays is an enticing proposition.
