While it's easy to get lost in the OBJ drama that has occurred for the Giants, many forget that they're only one game out of first place in the NFC East.
With a huge game coming up tomorrow night against the Eagles, they'll be getting one of their best defensive players back in outside linebacker Olivier Vernon.
After suffering a high ankle sprain at the end of training camp, the Giants have been patient with Vernon's return to avoid an injury setback.
New York's defense has struggled creating any pressure on quarterbacks in recent weeks, and part of that could be due to Vernon's absence.
The Giants signed him to one of the most expensive contracts for a defensive end (when they were still playing as a 4-3 defense) in NFL history in 2016. Although he hasn't cashed in on too many sacks, he plays well against the run and can create havoc for opposing quarterbacks.
Good news for the #Giants: LB Olivier Vernon is off the injury report. He's back.— NFL Update (@MySportsUpdate) October 10, 2018
It's possible that he can make a big impact against the Eagles due to their recent struggles on offense against the Colts and the Vikings.
Vernon, along with Damon Harrison and Kareem Martin, will have to make life difficult for Carson Wentz if they want to have any hopes of knocking off the reigning champions tomorrow nigh
