One thing is for sure, Jimmy Butler's days in a Minnesota Timberwolves jersey are numbered. It's not a matter of if he moves somewhere else but when.

The four-time All-Star and elite NBA defensive player has been linked to the Miami Heat for the last few weeks, but reports suggest that a deal that was in place fell apart.

Per ESPN and the great Adrian Wojnarowski, the Timberwolves had a deal ready to go before they shared Butler's injury history with Miami. That prompted them to cancel plans altogether.

Well, that's what you get for being honest and having full transparency.

With the trade market stagnant for the 29-year-old, chances are Butler isn't going anywhere other than Miami. The Wolves don't hold much leverage in this situation, especially after revealing Butler's injury history. Considering he's been blatant about his distaste for the Wolves, Butler isn't going to re-sign with Minnesota next offseason when he becomes a free agent.

Minnesota must trade him while they have the chance.
