Notre Dame and Clemson have both dealt with their own quarterback battles, but fans of the Fighting Irish are the true winners.

The Tigers are down on their luck as their QB depth chart has been gutted after the departure of former starter Kelly Bryant.

What's left behind are three freshman QBs, a wide receiver and a punter who all have no game experience, expect for Trevor Lawrence

At Notre Dame, Brandon Wimbush could have followed the same route as Bryant and left town. He didn't and will graduate in December. At the same time, should anything happen to Book, Wimbush's No. 7 will be ready to enter the game if his number is called.

Wimbush has proven himself for the past two seasons as a starter with 13-3 record and bowl win over LSU. Fans don't have to worry about his resume.

Ultimately, he has been outplayed by Book, but that doesn't mean he can't come out a get the job done for his team if he's needed. Say something does happen to Book, Wimbush will go in with a winner's mentality and do all he can to help the team win.

He may not be QB1 anymore, but you never know what might happen down the road. Should he be placed back on the field, ND fans will know he'll be ready to rock and give his all.
