Is  Jimmy Butler ever not on the trade block? While the reasoning behind the star forward's seemingly perpetual place within the rumor mill will have to wait until another time, what we can focus on now is that Butler will likely be moved again.

The star made his feelings known when he requested a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves, also demanding that he be dealt to either New York team or the LA Clippers. Later on, he added the  Miami Heat to that list after they showed a good amount of interest in making a deal for him.

However, it seems like that interest is being tested a bit by the Timberwolves, even after talks began to "heat" up.

Apparently, the two teams were making some strong strides in getting a deal for Butler done this past week. Unfortunately, Minnesota had some ideas that Miami didn't quite agree with, and the talks came to a halt right there.

Butler has averaged 20 points or more since the 2014-15 season and also produces on the boards and with helpers. The star is only 28. It's understandable that Minnesota is hesitant to give up one of their prized possessions especially after just one season and equally just that the Heat are wary of overpaying.

Nonetheless, Adrian Wojnarowski insists trade talks remain ongoing.

Miami is the favorite to land Butler and is also his No. 1 preferred destination. While we can't possibly know how far the two teams' negotiations went, it's fair to assume their rift won't completely destroy their communication. Miami is still a safe bet.

Butler will go. It's just a matter of when.
