It's not too often that you're given an extension on the regular season, but MLB fans were treated to not one, but two playoff prequels on Monday, as the National League buckled down to determine playoff seeding.

In a great matchup that has a good chance of being replicated in just a few days, the Milwaukee Brewers invaded Chicago and beat the Cubs 3-1, meaning the latter will have to play in the Wild Card game. Chicago will now host another one-game playoff against the Rockies, and the winner will face the Brew Crew in the real thing.

Naturally, a poor offensive showing against Milwaukee has quickly spread doubt amongst Cubs fans about their beloved team. However, one man on the team was quick to show confidence in his squad, and the faithful should do the same.

They've already been here. And they more than overcame it.

Leave it up to superstar Kris Bryant to try to get his boys pumped up for a do-or-die game on Tuesday at their house. The young Cub reaffirmed his belief in Chicago and even referenced something he said in 2016 during the playoffs. That moment was, of course, pivotal in the team's World Series run, spurring an improbable comeback. Now, Bryant is saying that the team can not only win a Wild Card game, but also replicate their 2016 championship run.

Bryant has good reason to believe. The Cubs are a loaded team on all fronts and have their leader in ERA and wins, veteran Jon Lester, going for the Wild Card showdown. Acquiring this "series" win and more is certainly doable.

The Cubs have worked some magic before, so why not do it again? If there's anything we know about baseball, it's that any team has a chance to win the whole thing.

Bryant believes it, and so should the fans.
