The Colorado Rockies are heading back to the playoffs for the second year in a row. How many times had they ever made it to postseason baseball in back-to-back campaigns, you ask? Zero. Exactly zero times.

After going down 2-1 in the top of the fourth inning to the Washington Nationals Friday night, the Rox stormed back to win 5-2.

Bust out the champagne, boys.

The Rockies have been on a tear as of late. Colorado's win today adds yet another notch in their winning streak, which is now up to seven games.

Most importantly, the win puts the Rockies up 1.5 games on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.

Not many outside of Denver believed in the Rockies to make a run at the division title the season. According to Fangraphs, the probability of the Rockies winning the NL West were at four percent at the beginning of the season. Even more surprisingly, the chances of the Rockies winning the division were given at 0.8 percent as recently as June 27th!

It's official. Let Rocktober begin!
