The best pitcher in history debate is one that will rage on for generations, but former MLB great Orel Hershiser thinks he has an answer to put all arguments to rest right now.

Hershiser believes that Clayton Kershaw is the greatest pitcher to ever play.

Randy Johnson, Sandy Koufax, Pedro Martinez, Cy Young and Roger Clemens, just to name a few, are other baseball legends that are a big aspect of the sport's rich history.

Then again, maybe he knows something we don't know.

But one thing we know is that Kershaw's postseason record probably can't make his the undisputed best pitcher in MLB history. While the veteran left-hander has been one of the best regular-season performers we've ever seen, his 4.35 ERA in the playoffs over 122 innings is far from dominant.

Hershiser might have to incorporate all facets of a pitcher's game before stepping up to a podium to debate someone on this topic.
