Ouch. This could be really damaging to the Colorado Rockies' playoff chances.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Rockies shortstop Trevor Story could be facing UCL damage to his right elbow after suffering an injury and leaving Monday night's contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers early.

The official diagnosis is not known at this time, but Story left Monday night's game in the fourth inning during an at-bat after taking a swing that led to elbow soreness. Story suffered the initial impact earlier in the game on a diving play defensively.

The Rockies can't afford to lose Story for a significant amount of time, as he's putting together an MVP-caliber season and is slashing .288/.343/.550 with 78 extra-base hits (33 home runs), 102 RBI and 26 stolen bases. More to come as Story emerges from an MRI tube, most likely.
