Bad news out of Cincinnati today despite the Bengals victory over the Ravens on Thursday night.

Second-year running back Joe Mixon may need surgery on his knee following after suffering an injury in last night's divisional game.

The troubling thing here is not just that Mixon will be out for two weeks, but that he reentered the game in the third quarter, which may have caused even more damage. He'll get a second opinion before making a decision though.

The injury forces sixth-year man Giovani Bernard to pick up the slack as the starting running back. For Bernard fantasy owners and Bengals fans, there should be some relief as Bernard has shown flashes that he can be a capable back in the NFL.

For now, the team will look to build off of a stellar performance in their win against Baltimore and rely on both star wideout AJ Green and Bernard to lead the offense.

Although these guys are capable of putting up big numbers, this team simply isn't the same offense without Mixon on the field.
