On Monday, the Atlanta Falcons signed former Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Corey Nelson.
With starting inside linebacker Deion Jones dealing with what is believed to be a minor foot injury, the acquisition of Nelson gives Dan Quinn and Co. some insurance just in case Jones runs into any setbacks.
Nelson was a seventh-round pick by the Broncos back in 2014. He spent the first three seasons of his career at Mile High, playing in every single game as a backup over that span of time.
He missed the entire 2017 season with a triceps injury and couldn't make the Eagles roster after signing with them back in March.
Atlanta made several other roster decisions today and signed safety Keith Tandy, who could see the field with starting safety Keanu Neal out for the season with a knee injury. They also signed former Eagles defensive end Steven Means.
