Tori Gurley's belief in his alma mater might end up doing more harm than good. Going back to July, the wide receiver personally guaranteed that South Carolina will beat Georgia on Saturday.
I guarantee South Carolina Beats UGA on Saturday!!! Columbia is going to be Lit!!!

Gurley played two seasons at South Carolina, totaling 824 receiving yards on 70 receptions and six touchdowns. During his second year, he set a school record by recording zero dropped passes.
The message didn't go unnoticed by the Gamecocks. Instead of responding directly to Gurley's statement, however, the team found a more practical use of the tweet. It turns out that South Carolina actually printed out copies of the tweet and taped it to a wall in football facility to use as motivation.
Forty-eight copies of Tori Gurley’s “guarantee” of South Carolina beating #UGA are taped to one wall in the football facility.

Georgia and South Carolina, No. 3 and No. 24 respectively, are expected to battle in an exciting contest. However, that doesn't mean that the odds aren't stacked against the Gamecocks. The Bulldogs are heavy favorites to win the game, and historically Georgia has dominated the meetings between the two schools.
Try and think of something you've only done 18 times. EIGHTEEN.

Seems like a significantly small number, doesn't it?
That's the exact amount of times South Carolina has beaten Georgia in the sport of football... in 70 meetings... dating back to 1894.
Gurley's guarantee is well intentioned for his former team, but it might be smarter to make such a strong statement against a weaker team.
