Even though Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery will miss at least the first two games of the season with a shoulder injury, it hasn't stopped him from being a leader and a big voice in the locker room.
Before their game against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night -- the inaugural game of the 2018 NFL season -- Jeffery spoke to the team and what he said will hopefully give the Eagles the perfect arc of a season.
Alshon Jeffery spoke to the team today and told them “our season starts with Atlanta let’s make it end in Atlanta”— Derrick Gunn (@RealDGunnNBCS) September 4, 2018
Does that not jack you up beyond belief?
Since Super Bowl LIII will be held in Atlanta this season, Jeffery made sure to let the team know that's their end goal.
If that quote right there doesn't give you goosebumps, I don't know what will.
With Alshon Jeffery and Mack Hollins not playing against the Falcons, these will be the Eagles’ wide receivers on Thursday night:— Brandon Lee Gowton (@BrandonGowton) September 4, 2018
Despite Jeffery not being ready to go for Week 1, the Eagles look to be in great shape due to the crazy depth they have at almost every position.
The Eagles are looking to repeat as Super Bowl champs after defeating the New England Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl LII last season, and the road to defending their title begins on Thursday.
