The day has finally come, Lakers fans. Time to rejoice!

Luol Deng has finally reached a contract buyout with Los Angeles, and the team will officially be free of the highly-priced veteran.

Deng's relationship with the Lakers was doomed from the start.

When Deng signed his massive four-year, $72 million deal with the Lakers, there was no way he was going to live up to the money, but no one could have predicted just how much of a bust Deng would be in Los Angeles.

There's no better way to describe how much of a disappointment Deng was on the Lakers than by telling you how many games he played with Los Angeles last year: a grand total of one. He was outplayed by the younger guys on the Lakers last season and was forced to take a backseat to every single one of them.

If Deng had stayed on the team this year, he would have had even less of an impact, with players like LeBron James, Lance Stephenson, and Michael Beasley joining the Lake Show.

Both sides have to be happy, as Deng can now get a chance with a new organization and the Lakers aren't stuck paying a gigantic contract to a player that would never get in the game.
