After leaving last night's victory over the Atlanta Braves early due to hamstring tightness, Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward has been placed on the 10-day DL with a hamstring strain.

This move comes with many more switches to the Cubs roster. Righty Dillon Maples has been recalled from Triple-A, but that is certainly not the exciting news for Cubs fans.

As part of the expanded rosters on September 1st, the Chicago Cubs expect to see Kris Bryant and Addison Russell make their return this weekend as well.

Bryant has been out for more than a month and will provide an immediate solution to fill up whatever hole in offensive productivity the Cubs have with Jason Heyward gone.

The Cubs are 79-54 on the year, and with the acquisitions of Cole Hamels and Daniel Murphy are looking stronger than ever.
