Chicago Cubs fans should be thrilled to hear this news. After missing more than a month with shoulder issues, Kris Bryant is on his way back to the majors.

The Cubs are set to activate both Bryant and Addison Russell this weekend.

While Russell may only be available in a minor capacity in the next couple of days, manager Joe Maddon says that Bryant is expected to be in the starting lineup tomorrow.

With Jason Heyward heading to the disabled list, having Bryant back will certainly add some needed offensive production in the Cubs lineup.

Throwing Bryant and Russell back into the mix makes an already great situation in Chicago even better. The Cubs are 79-54 on the season with the St. Louis Cardinals trailing by 4.5 games in the NL Central. Bryant and Russell will definitely help preserve the division lead or even extend it.

The Cubs are looking strong and Bryant and Russell will only make them stronger, especially with the additions of Daniel Murphy and Cole Hamels over the past month.
