In a relatively unexpected move, Teddy Bridgewater was just traded to the Saints. it's a sneaky good move for New Orleans, trust us.
They've been searching for their QB of the future for quite some time and they now have him.
The Saints have been looking for a QB of the future for the last 5 years. Now they have a great one in Teddy.— Gregg Rosenthal (@greggrosenthal) August 29, 2018
At just 25 years old, Bridgewater is young and he has starting experience already. He owns a career 86.3 Passer rating. The chance to learn from Drew Brees is quite impressive, as Bridgewater has never had a truly great QB to learn from in his career.
Brees has maybe 2-3 years left in the tank. After that, they go to Teddy, right?

The Saints might just be operating under the same mantra as the 2017 Eagles. You can never have too good of a backup QB. Bridgewater was impressive in 2015, as he threw for 3,231 yards, tossed 14 touchdowns and was named to the Pro Bowl.
Sean Payton would be the most inventive playcaller Teddy has ever suited up to play for. He could utilize Bridgewater's throwing ability as well as his running skills.
There's a lot to like with this move for the future - both long-term and immediate.
