Bad news for the defending champions.
Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery is expected to miss at least the first two games of the season, but the team will activate him to the 53-man roster this weekend with optimism he could be back by week 3, per @mortreport and me.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 28, 2018
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jeffery will still be activated on the 53-man roster and could be back by Week 3. Jeffery is still recovering from a shoulder injury that needed surgery immediately following the Eagles' Super Bowl victory in February.
This is obviously a significant blow to the Eagles, who are looking to defend their first ever Super Bowl win. Jeffrey, who was on his first season with Philadelphia, played a pivotal role in the Eagles' road to the Super Bowl title. Jeffery caught five passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns in the NFC Championship game before catching three passes for 73 yards and a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

Take your time, Alshon. The Eagles need you healthy to repeat.
