Just imagine LeBron James having Klay Thompson to dish the ball to when he's driving into the paint. That duo would be nearly unstoppable.

Well, the good news for Lakers fans is that they may not have to imagine after this season. Los Angeles has set itself up perfectly to land another top tier free agent next summer, and Thompson has been rumored to be on their radar for quite a while now.

You can thank Magic Johnson for that, Lakers fans.

Thompson is a free agent after this year and the Warriors aren't going to be able to keep him and Draymond Green on long-term deals. One of them is going to have to go, and the fact that the Lakers will probably be able to give him as much money as possible will certainly be enticing for the LA native. That coupled with playing alongside LeBron, of course.

The Lakers have Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Rajon Rondo, Michael Beasley, JaVale McGee, Ivica Zubac and Lance Stephenson all coming off the books after this season, meaning the cap space will be aplenty considering the rest of the roster is comprised of young players still on their rookie deals.

Johnson will obviously have his sights set on a number of other big names when the time comes, including Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler, but Thompson will add a much more effective dynamic to this team with his lights out shooting from beyond the arc.

Get ready for a fun next few years, Lakers fans.
