Major League Baseball unveiled the uniforms for Players' Weekend that is only two weeks away, and while the design of the jerseys and caps are great, it's the nicknames that makes this weekend in late-August special.
Hunter Pence of the San Francisco Giants may have the best nickname on his jersey, league-wide, but the Braves have some pretty good ones as well.
Who DOESN'T want that Acuña jersey?
Leading the way for Atlanta is their Gold Glove center fielder Ender Inciarte, who has a nice play on words with his last name "GAME ENDER." That's so fitting when you look at some of his catches in clutch situations that actually ended games.
Braves fans have already been calling Mike Foltynewicz "Folty" and Sean Newcomb "Newk" since they've been in the bigs, so they are certainly fitting nicknames. I also have no idea why Freddie Freeman is going with "ANDREW," but hey, you are an MVP candidate, so go with whatever you like.
The second part of this list doesn't have a lot of creativity, but give credit to the likes of Kurt Suzuki and Dan Winkler for going with shortened versions of their last names.
One thing is for sure after looking at these nicknames: Ozzie Albies will be called "puchi" from now on.
