LeBron James might officially be a Los Angeles Laker now, but the Akron, Ohio, native will always keep his hometown close to his heart.

The 14-time NBA All-Star announced via his personal Twitter that his LeBron James Family Foundation will be opening a school in Akron on Monday.

The project, working in conjunction with the Akron Public School district, will have an inaugural class of approximately 240 students. According to James's foundation, the I PROMISE School will include students from first through eighth grade and infuse a "rigorous curriculum with a STEM, hands-on, problem-based learning focus," including the organization's "We Are Family" approach.

Bron was rightfully proud and excited about this excellent opportunity.

As LBJ himself shared:

Excellent work by the King in utilizing his influence away from the court and making such an impact on his community. He'll truly always belong to northeast Ohio.
