Well Mariners fans, how much do you enjoy Safeco Field? Unfortunately, this is a serious question you have to ask yourself because the Mariners are asking for $180 million in public funding in order to sign a long-term extension at the Sodo park.

Who knows what's going to happen here. That's a lot of money that needs to be obtained, which is apparently needed to "help with fixes at the ballpark."

The Safe opened up in 1999 for a third-place Mariners team that had Ken Griffey Jr., Edgar Martinez and Alex Rodriguez on it. Being the first MLB stadium to have a retractable roof gives it it's own place in history.

Over the last 19 years, however, it has grown with the classic "Safeco Field" over the right field bleachers, and of course fans love Edgar's Cantina.

I think I speak for Mariners fans everywhere when I say a resolution to this matter better be made. The Mariners without Safeco Field just doesn't sound right.
