It is well known that the one and only Michael Jordan is just as competitive on the golf course as he was on the hardwood. And current PGA star Rickie Fowler recently sat down with Mike Tirico to give a personal account of what playing against the GOAT is really like.
"He's just a grinder, a competitor, he's just gonna try to find a way to get it done," Fowler said.
When asked how many shots Jordan gets when they play each other, Fowler answered honestly. "Typically 10... he's beaten me, I've beaten him."
Gotta love hearing that His Airness hasn't lost any of his edge. The stories of his ruthlessness on the links are well represented, but it is nice to hear it from an actual pro who has maximum respect for the mental toughness and relentless will it takes to survive a day on the course.
Fowler is looking for his first-ever major title at the upcoming Open Championship at Carnoustie. He is one of the most talented golfers out there at a young age of 29, and if any of MJ's competitive fire rubbed off on him, he'll be all the more suited to take on the challenge.
