Is there a more controversial figure in football right now then Terrell Owens? First, he declines to attend his own Hall of Fame induction, leading to the NFL refusing to use any mention of the wide receiver's name despite his induction. Now, he is not holding back in accusing Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the Patriots of one of the worst crimes in sports: cheating.
In a recent game of pick-up basketball, he playfully accused his opponent of cheating. While it could have ended as that, Owens decided to take it a step further and say, "You sound like the Patriots. You know what I mean? ...I don't care about the Patriots. Belichick, Brady -- they cheaters. They cheated. They cheated."
Unlike his refusal to attend the Hall of Fame ceremony, this sort of makes sense from Owens' perspective. The Patriots defeated Owens in his only Super Bowl appearance back in 2005 with the Philadelphia Eagles. Shortly after, New England was busted for SpyGate.
As Owens tries to salvage whatever professional football career he has left in the tank, comments like these will continue to turn NFL teams and fans off from T.O.'s antics.
