Jared Goff knows who he will be throwing to for the foreseeable future. Brandin Cooks knows he will be getting paid.
The Rams and their newly acquired star wide receiver Cooks have agreed to a 5-year extension.
Just like that, even before he's hauled in a reception for the defending NFC West champs, he's locked in for a while.

Cooks and Los Angeles wasted no time in turning this into a long-term relationship after Cooks was traded from New England to Los Angeles just three months ago.
The Rams are making a big commitment to someone who has not yet stepped on to the field as a member of their team. Per Adam Schefter, the extension is five years, for $80 million.
Though his stay in Los Angeles has been brief, Cooks has reportedly been impressing head coach Sean McVay since Day 1 with his speed and playmaking ability.

The Rams are expecting Cooks to fill the role that Sammy Watkins previously played in the offense. Cooks will be asked to take the top off the field while other receivers work the underneath routes and provide a safety blanket for Goff.
Cooks has averaged 14.1 yards per reception over the course of his career, so he should have no difficulty keeping defenses honest.
If Cooks maintains his production over the course of this deal, he and Goff may just remind Rams fans of the great Kurt Warner-Torrey Hold duo.
