The moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived. The most widely sought after player available on the MLB trade market has finally found his new home.

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in one of the biggest pre-deadline deals ever.

This deal marks the end of a half season's worth of speculation about where Baltimore's best young player would be spending the prime of his career. The Dodgers are getting a guy who can be counted on to hit for top-notch power while providing excellent defense on the left side of the infield.

This year Machado is having a career year, with a .315 average with 24 HR and 65 RBI.

Los Angeles is taking a big risk by sending away these prospects with no guarantee that Machado will re-sign with the team once his contract expires after the season. The allure of a World Series is always powerful, but you don't want to get caught with Machado leaving and you gave up your best prospects for him.

This marks the end of a 7-year stint for Machado in Baltimore where he blossomed into one of the best young players in baseball. Splitting time between third base and shortstop, Machado has impressive career numbers for the Orioles with a .283 batting average, 31 home runs and 89 RBI per year.

With the trade drama finally laid to rest, it is now officially time to start the Machado free agency rumors.
