Manny Machado could be on the move soon, but at this point we don't know where he's going or what the Orioles are getting.
Then again, we might know that information VERY soon.
According to Jayson Stark of The Athletic, there Orioles have a "handshake agreement" with another team regarding a deal involving Machado.
The Philadelphia Phillies seem to be the frontrunner right now, as they've increased their offer last week and have Machado as their primary target. However, there's still no clear evidence that the Phillies and Orioles are on the verge of making this deal a reality.
Just got a text saying Phils and Orioles have a "Handshake Agreement" in place for Machado. What does that mean? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.— Smitty (@SmittyBarstool) July 16, 2018
The Orioles want to get a Machado done deal sooner rather than later -- as evidenced by the team pulling him from the fifth inning of yesterday's game -- but with the All-Star Game coming up on Tuesday, they'd probably finalize a deal after if they do have an agreement.
Philadelphia seems like the logical destination, but there are a ton of teams interested in the All-Star slugger and someone can swoop in at the last minute with a better offer.
