If you are a 3-star high school basketball player and you are looking to glow up your resume for college coaches, who better to do it in front of than John Calipari? The answer? Nobody.
That's exactly what 3-star forward Dontaie Allen from the class of 2019 did this week at the Under Armour Challenge in Atlanta.
In three pool play games in the tournament, Allen is averaging 28 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5 assists, but he fortunately saved his best performance out of the three for last when Coach Cal was on the sideline.
In that third game, Allen scored 30 points, making 11 of his 15 shots and went 4-6 from 3-point range. Talk about impressive. That is one way to stand out in front of maybe the best coach in the country.
Pendleton County star Dontaie Allen had 19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists tonight in game in which Coach K, Tom Izzo, Bob Huggins & Chris Mack were all in attendance— Mark Story (@markcstory) July 12, 2018
Now, a lot can change over the next year and Allen may fall in love with a different school, but all we know for sure is that this guy will be bouncing around in John Calipari's head when it comes to recruiting.
