Huge win for the Giants! The Giants are in the middle of a heated divisional race, so every game has the ability to make or break their season. With the Dodgers keeping pace and the Diamondbacks 3.5 games up on them, the Giants couldn't afford to give up any ground on Wednesday.

They battled with the NL Central-leading Chicago Cubs into the 13th inning until the team's leader Buster Posey decided to send the fans home happy. Posey sent a James Norwood pitch to the right field wall, which brought home the game's winning run.

Posey has been an absolute beast for the Giants this year and deservedly made his sixth All-Star team. He is definitely somebody manager Bruce Bochy can count on in the lineup every day.

As the NL West dogfight continues, the Giants are going to need to lean on veterans like Posey, Brandon Belt and Madison Bumgarner. Those guys are all proven winners, who know what it takes to be successful in a pennant race.
