When major schools like Notre Dame get commitments from high-caliber players like four-star receiver TJ Sheffield, they're usually happy to add on to their already star-studded squads.
Less than a week after he committed, the Fighting Irish shockingly rejected his commitment and told the receiver that they plan to go in another direction.
Through this tweet, apparently Notre Dame's wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander accepted his commitment prematurely and as a result, had to tell Sheffield that the school would not be accepting his commitment.
It's always upsetting to see a player who can't attend the school they've dreamed of playing for, but because of Sheffield's caliber, he has plenty of other offers on the table.
4-star WR TJ Sheffield back on the market. Sounds like an unfortunate situation here. https://t.co/aaDf48aLrN— Jeremy Birmingham (@Birm) July 11, 2018
Sheffield now has offers from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Louisville, UNC, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and many others to consider.
Obviously we will never know if he will be as comfortable at any of these schools like he was with Notre Dame, but he will definitely use this as motivation to show the Fighting Irish they made a mistake not allowing him to play for them.
