Some things never die, which clearly includes trade rumors surrounding Rob Gronkowski

Despite New England apparently shutting the door on any possible deal, more talks have circulated about the status of the All-Pro tight end. This time around it's an AFC executive offering insight on the situation. In fact, this executive believes Gronk is still available in any trade until the Patriots rework his contract.

It's already been a hectic offseason for the superstar, but it felt like rumors of him departing would finally disappear.

Now, the question remains as to whether or not Bill Belichick keeps him. Although Gronk attended mandatory minicamp and seems poised for another great season with Tom Brady, the rest of the league isn't exactly certain he'll shine in Foxborough for 2018.

According to Greg A. Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal, other teams in the NFL have zero reason to believe Gronk is off the market.

This definitely makes sense and is slowly gaining traction, but the Patriots have to understand the possible backlash they'll receive for shipping out Gronk. Besides, if they truly wanted him gone, then they could've traded him earlier in the offseason.

All signs point to Gronkowski staying in New England, yet it would be completely wrong of us to doubt Belichick from pulling off a shocking deal within the next few months.
