Yasiel Puig is grabbing headlines again, this time for a good reason. "The Wild Horse" hit one deep over the center field fence to give the Dodgers a three-run lead against their Freeway Series rivals, the Los Angeles Angels.
Sunday's contest is the rubber match of the three-game series, as the Dodgers were victorious on Friday and the Angels came out on top on Saturday. The series as a whole has been a pitching duel throughout, as both teams had only scored nine combined runs in two games before Puig's three0run shot off lefty Andrew Heaney.
Puig has quietly had a solid year for the Dodgers on and off the field in 2018. While his .263 average, 11 home runs, and 35 RBI are not exactly superstar numbers, he's getting the job done at the bottom of the lineup.
Dave Roberts just said he didn’t think Puig barreled his homer. Well... https://t.co/9heJLW46gm— Casey Boguslaw (@caseyboguslaw) July 9, 2018
Check those lenses, Dave! That was a bomb to center field!
Stay tuned to see if the Dodgers can pull out a series win on the road.
