A young man just got PAID, folks.
Devin Booker, the 21-year-old scoring scion of the Phoenix Suns, was always going to be a part of the team's long-term plans as it slowly rolls along with its rebuild. But tonight, what was first reported this week became official. The player has agreed to a five-year max extension worth a reported $158 million.

Yep, that's a lot of dough. And the man himself wasn't going to wait around and let all these reporters own the narrative themselves:
I am humbled & honored to commit to the Suns organization long term. I loved calling Phoenix home the last 3 seasons as this team & community are special to me. Thank you to the Suns for drafting me and believing in me. I look forward to the future & pursuing a title as a Sun. pic.twitter.com/AHRaraPww6— Devin Booker (@DevinBook) July 8, 2018
An NBA title may not be in the cards just yet, but it's quite likely that the super-powered Warriors will have disbanded by the end of the deal, and equally likely that LeBron James will be officially old by then.
Sure, the odds will probably always be against the Suns; they're not known as a free agent destination and their record for developing talent is spotty. But Booker once dropped 70 points in a game. And he's sticking around for the long haul.

Congrats on the payday, playboy.
Go get yourself one of every car ever made.
