Sometimes, fear is the best tactic to really get a message through someone's head.
That's the newest step for defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul when it comes to his quest to prevent people from using fireworks. He's showed off the injury before in an ad campaign, but nothing comes even close to the image he shared today.
Warning: if you're easily grossed out, head elsewhere. Enjoy your holiday while you still can.
For those of you who stayed with us without losing your lunch, congratulations. Please receive your medal on your way out.
Pierre-Paul is one person who knows first hand just how bad it can be when you're careless with fireworks He preaches safety, as you can see throughout his caption:
It’s been 3yrs since my accident and I can truly say I'm very blessed and fortunate to be where I am in life. Looking at these pictures seems unreal and crazy. How your life can change in the blink of an eye. One of the greatest American traditions in celebrating 4th of July is with fireworks. Unfortunately, tomorrow someone will be injured playing with fireworks. We are celebrating the birthday of our great nation. I'm glad to still be alive to show you the outcome of what happened to me. Please don't feel sorry for me, trust me your boy fine even with missing fingers lol. Be safe out there otherwise, this can be you.

Believe it or not, JPP is right. That's a best-case scenario.
He's still a talented athlete and is still one of the better players at his position. Even though he's been traded away to Tampa Bay, the man has no complaints. Things could have been so much worse for him.
Remember Pierre-Paul when you're enjoying your fireworks. They're fun, but they can leave quite the awful memory if you're not careful.
