It's no surprise across baseball that the Kansas City Royals are looking into trading pretty much everyone.

Merrifield would be a huge step up at second base for the Brewers, who are currently starting Jonathan Villar there. Merrifield could easily get plugged in right at the top of the lineup and help Milwaukee create runs.
It's not the first time the Brew Crew has looked at Merrifield. They were reportedly interested in a deal in the offseason, but it didn't pan out. But now that they are in serious contention for a division title, they're looking to bolster their offense as much as they can.

The race in the NL Central is shaping up to be an interesting one, and pending a few potential trades, it could be downright explosive down the stretch. Imagine a guy Mike Moustakas on the Cardinals, Merrifield on the Brewers, and a loaded Cubs team with a sudden chip on its shoulder. Get strapped in.
