EVERYONE STAY CALM!
Usually, the biggest storylines during the NBA offseason revolve around free agents, but Kawhi Leonard's feud with the Spurs has created one of the craziest sagas in sports. The initial reports from San Antonio indicated that Gregg Popovich and management would try to mend their deteriorating relationship.
This doesn't guarantee Kawhi Leonard is going to the Lakers this week -- since San Antonio could always trade him elsewhere and/or drag things out -- but league sources say of the Spurs: "They're ready" to move on from Kawhi— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) June 28, 2018
We all know that Los Angeles is the preferred destination for the All-Star forward, but it doesn't sound like San Antonio is going to accommodate his wishes.
It's only fitting that Woj Bomb season is in full effect, as the ESPN insider revealed that the Spurs have fully engaged in trade talks with the Lakers and Celtics. Before everyone embraces for a heartwarming reunion between California and Kawhi, it appears that Boston has the more appealing trade package.
The Spurs are fully engaged in trade talks with several teams on Kawhi Leonard, including the Lakers and Celtics, league sources tell ESPN. Boston has long had the assets that the Spurs most covet in a potential Leonard trade.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) June 28, 2018
After making a name for himself in the NBA playoffs, Jayson Tatum is nearly untouchable. Yet, an offer that includes Jaylen Brown is definitely intriguing. In just his second season, the former first-round pick averaged 14.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
While the Spurs might never seek the return they're looking for, losing Kawhi Leonard for merely nothing would be devastating.
It's officially time for basketball fans to go crazy.
