Alex Smith seems to be adjusting to his new home with the Washington Redskins rather well, and he has already found one of his favorite targets.

The quarterback made note of how easy it is for him to read the movement of wide receiver Jamison Crowder, something that makes his job as a signal caller much easier.

Crowder should see an extended role with the club this year, as everyone knows how much Smith likes to hit his slot receivers for quick gains.

The young pass-catcher is the perfect player for Smith to utilize between the hashes.

Expectations will be high for a Redskins team that made major noise this offseason, most notably by changing quarterbacks. The NFC East will be tough, headlined by the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, but Washington expects to be in the thick of the race.

Smith and his team will kick the season off on the road against the Arizona Cardinals.
