The Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals have been trading blows Wednesday afternoon with one home run after another. The latest long ball came off the bat of Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera, a go-ahead solo homer in the seventh inning. Take a look at this blast off the facade of the second deck:
Herrera may have a funky swing and plays with his hair on fire, but the dude can play and he's been on fire as of late.
In his last 13 at-bats, Odubel Herrera is 7-13 with four home runs. He's raised his batting average from .283 at the conclusion of Saturday's game to .299 currently.— Tim Kelly (@TimKellySports) June 20, 2018
Herrera has homered in four straight games, and now on the season he's hitting .299 with 27 extra-base hits (12 home runs) and 41 RBI.
There's no question that Herrera is Philly's best hitter and is on track to represent them at the All-Star Game in Washington D.C. next month.
