The Washington Nationals officially lost another big bat Tuesday, when left fielder Matt Adams was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a fractured index finger.
Adams was hit by a pitch in the left index finger last Friday. This means that Adams will now be out for at a couple weeks, although his exact recovery time has not yet been determined.
Matt Adams squared around to bunt, and the ball wound up getting a piece of his left index and middle fingers. Tried to shake it off, but now he has called for Paul Lessard from the dugout.— Mark Zuckerman (@MarkZuckerman) June 15, 2018
With Adams on the DL due to his botched bunt, the Nationals have also sent Wander Suero down to Triple-A Syracuse, officially adding Kelvin Herrera (welcome to Washington!) and pitcher Jefry Rodriguez. Rodriguez is set to start against the Baltimore Orioles Tuesday night according to Nationals manager Dave Martinez.

There is no word yet on when Adams will be ready to play again but you can watch the 24-year-old Rodriguez take the mound against the Orioles Tuesday night.
