Finally, the moment has arrived.
We'd heard reports all morning of Bryce Harper's new look, but somehow no one leaked a single photograph until Harper rolled up for live game action on Monday evening.
And yes, he looks like a fresh rookie straight out of 2012. Juan Soto might not be Monday's only time-traveler in Washington.
The kid has returned.
Unfortunately, the new look didn't get Harper's swing back on track in his first AB; he struck out against Yankee reliever Chad Green to open the resumed game, fitting right in with his old self.
The Nats took a lead immediately after on 19-year-old Juan Soto's mega-shot, however, so maybe Bryce's beard needed to die so the rest of the roster could live. It's a weird world, and we're all just trying to navigate it as best we can.
