The Diamondbacks have themselves a shnazzy new bullpen cart, which is meant to bring relievers in from the bullpen. Mets reliever Robert Gsellman got his first chance to ride the bullpen cart, and he and the Mets had way too much fun with it.
At least it was a sweet ride, according to Gsellman. And hey, something must have worked. The reliever went 1.1 perfect innings with two strikeouts.
Robert Gsellman says the bullpen cart cushions were soft and comfortable. He enjoyed his ride, and plans to give the driver a solid review. "We need one of those. That would be a lot of fun." pic.twitter.com/rLx6zcrsJI— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) June 17, 2018
It has to be funny to see that, no matter where you're sitting. But if I'm a pitcher in the Mets bullpen, I would crack up to at the sight of one of my guy sitting in a bullpen cart, acting like he's some sort of celebrity getting a ride in a luxury limousine.
Maybe the Mets should get a bullpen cart. Let's be honest, they can use all of the help they could get.
