As everyone knows, the USA is the basketball powerhouse of the world. The sport was invented in Massachusetts, we have the most popular league, and it is ingrained in.
So it is no surprise when the U.S dominates the FIBA World Cup, but it's still worth noting who stands out among the youngest ballers our country sends internationally.
Incoming North Carolina freshman guard Coby White is out here showing everyone why you don't mess with Americans on the court.
In the semi-final game of the FIBA Americas U18 tournament, USA (5-0) advanced to their fifth-consecutive final. White dropped 25 points in the victory.
It sounds like he's ready for more. White had this to say about the 104-92 win over Argentina (3-2):
"Our defense wasn't the best tonight," said White. "But we'll get back to the drawing board and we'll be better defensively tomorrow."
Argentina at least kept it close. With a team full of soon-to-be NBA stars, who can take them down? Led by White, Quentin Grimes, Matthew Hurt, and Ayo Dosunmu, this team is absolutely dominant.
Look for the USA to take home yet another gold medal after their final matchup against Canada (5-0) in Saturday's game (8:15 p.m. EDT).
