The Blue Jays could really use this guy right about now.
The Blue Jays (as expected) have not had a great season. They are 15 games back of the Yankees for first place in the AL East. All they can really hope for now is to start unloading some guys and rebuild.
No lineup for series finale yet, but I’m told Josh Donaldson is still not ready to return (calf).

One of their major trade pieces, Josh Donaldson, has been stuck on the DL with a calf injury. He has been out of the Jays lineup since May 28th. They were hoping to get him back soon but Donaldson has yet to complete any baserunning drills.

Donaldson's value to the Blue Jays is his trade value. The Jays are going nowhere fast and need to get younger. Donaldson is an older injury-prone third baseman who isn't in the team's long term plans.
The Toronto Blue Jays need to acquire pitching prospects/young pitchers when they trade 3B Josh Donaldson. Here are the 5 teams that make sense as potential landing spots.

1) Atlanta Braves
2) St. Louis Cardinals
3) Philadelphia Phillies
4) Cleveland Indians
5) Boston Red Sox
Potentially there are plenty of teams who would line up for the services of Donaldson. The St. Louis Cardinals were apparently talking to the Blue Jays before the season started but nothing ever came to fruition.
Hopefully Donaldson gets back soon. The Blue Jays are in desperate need of a shake up and every game Donaldson sits out is another game of lost value.
