4 Games UNC Basketball is Definitely Going to Lose Next Year

With star seniors Joel Berry and Theo Pinson leaving the Tar Heels, much of the burden will be placed on Luke Maye to carry UNC to the tournament. After having a hard time taking down ranked teams last season, here are four games UNC will undoubtedly struggle with.

4. At Miami

Miami was able to pull off an incredible buzzer beating upset in Chapel Hill last season, and will be looking to do it again. Although UNC was able to beat out the Canes in the ACC Tournament, that does not mean they're out of the woods yet. The Tar Heels will have to travel to Coral Gables next season where Miami will have the home court advantage and thirst for another upset.

3. At Duke

The Tar Heels suffered a steep 74-64 loss against Duke last season. Not only did their defense fail, but also their offense. UNC had difficulties keeping up with the Blue Devils in the second half and quite literally dropped the ball. UNC will have to play Duke both at home and away next season. Let's just say North Carolina is definitely going to struggle in Durham.

2. Gonzaga

This upcoming season marks the beginning of a home-and-home series between Gonzaga and North Carolina. Although the series will start off in Chapel Hill, I have a feeling Gonzaga will arrive looking for vengeance after the 2017 Championship game. Forwards Rui Hachimura and Killian Tillie will be the Zag's upper hand.

1. Virginia

The Tar Heels suffered two losses against Virginia last season, something they surely will not forget. Although during their 61-49 loss Virginia had the at home advantage, there is no doubt in my mind that UNC will crumble during their face off in Chapel Hill next year. Virginia's defense is just too good, the Tar Heels will not be able to keep up.
