Finally, a professional athlete who has an understanding of how the fans really feel. No, they aren't saying Yu, they are saying boo.

Chicago Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish believes the Chicago fanbase genuinely hates him.

There may be some validity to his unfortunate beliefs. Apparently, much like a certain general manager in Philadelphia, Yu Darvish spends a little too much time on Twitter. Cubs catcher and friend of Darvish, Chris Gimenez, says the high-priced free agent acquisition reads everything all the keyboard warriors say about him.

So why are they roasting him? Is it deserved?

Well it starts with the fact that Darvish signed a 6-year $126 million contract this offseason, but has already made a couple trips to the disabled list; one of them for the flu.

“I think he thinks that Chicago hates him for going on the DL a couple of times,” Gimenez told the Chicago Sun-Times. “I’ve tried to portray to him, ‘Listen, they’re going to love you when we get to October and we’re doing the things that we all want to do here, you’re the main reason we’re doing it and we’re riding you all the way through it."

While he's on the field, Darvish is just 1-3 and has an ERA hovering around 5.00. The fans may have a point here.

This leaves Darvish with three options: purchase ear plugs, delete Twitter or pitch better.
