Two outs, top of the ninth, Joey Votto at the plate, Giants trying to preserve a two-run victory at home...yeah, seems like the perfect time for a well-executed dick joke. Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper, the Giants' beloved broadcast team, are in such lock step at this point that nothing one does on air can really throw the other. And so, it's with great pleasure that we announce that statute includes awkward jokes with only a few seconds remaining in the game.

"Wouldn't be the first time I've lied about four inches."

Whew.

Really the perfect joke for this scenario, if you're gonna try to slip one in (no pun intended); it goes over the heads of the nervous children who are worried about whiffing Joey Votto and hits that sweet spot for the adults in the room.

It's been a long, weird season for the Giants already, but this new development was almost as surprising as Pablo Sandoval being competent. The team started off somewhat slow, but has started to pick up speed as of late. What can we say? The roster's a grower, not a shower.
